How this works
Every number here was spoken aloud on a
podcast and extracted by machine. This page says exactly how, and where it is
uncertain.
Where the data comes from
778 episodes of the Kinda Funny Gamescast and In Review — 2,316
hours — were transcribed with speaker diarisation, and scores, rankings and the
sentences around them extracted. Nothing is hand-entered and nothing is inferred:
if a host did not say a number, no number is shown for them. That yielded
1070 titles, 546 scores and 72 franchise rankings.
Scores are shown as spoken
Kinda Funny used a 1–5 scale before May 2024 and 0–10 after. Individual scores are
always displayed on the scale the critic actually used — a “four out of five” is
never rendered as 8/10 beside someone's name. Normalisation happens only in an
average. A 1–5 scale has a floor of 2/10 while 0–10 has a floor of 0, so a lifetime
mean spanning the change is biased upward; per-era figures appear on every critic
page.
What is not done
There is no metascore, no critic consensus and no gap-filling. Only
301 of 1070 titles carry
a score at all — the film show ranks rather than rates, and those pages show a rank
instead of an invented number.
Known problems in the data
6 scores use an impossible scale (out of 4, 4.6 and 100). Almost certainly transcription errors. They are shown as spoken, marked, and excluded from every average and from structured data:

560 media entries are excluded from this site. They came from ranked lists of things that are not works — villains, and in one episode a ranking of walkathon dinners — so “Chili's” and “Licker” are in the database but not published here.
Transcripts
Episode transcripts are machine-generated and contain errors, especially in titles
and names. Speaker attribution comes from voiceprints where a host is enrolled and
from conversational context otherwise; where the system could not identify a
speaker the line reads “Unidentified speaker” rather than guessing a person.
